Did you know that

MEAT PRODUCTION CONTRIBUTES TO GLOBAL WARMING?

How?

1) Meat farms produce millions of tons of carbon dioxide and methane annually, the two major greenhouse gases that together account for over 90% of U.S. greenhouse emissions.

2) Forests are being cut down at a rapid rate to provide pasture for cows and grow soybeans for cattle feed. Forests, especially rainforests, filter our air by absorbing carbon dioxide, and emit life-supporting oxygen.

3) Transportation and refrigeration takes far more fossil-fuel energy than equivalent amounts of protein from plant sources.

Another reason to eat less meat:

Vegetarian diets are healthier than meat-based diets, according to several health studies.

So even if you are are not ready to go completely vegan, cutting your meat consumption, say, in half, would make a difference for the health of both yourself and the Earth.
