ANZA BORREGO CAR CAMP APRIL 2008

Flowering Plants

Eight campers spent the weekend April 4 - 6, 2008, at the Culp Valley Campground in Anza Borrego. The weather was great, sunny and not too hot, altho intermittent winds played some havoc with our tents. On Saturday we hiked seven and a half miles from the camp down to the valley below through a desert alive with colorful spring flowers and birdsong. On Sunday morning we went on a two-mile walk to Pena Springs.

In the lefthand column is a complete list of flowering desert plants and birds seen and heard during the weekend. Pictures of plants with links can be found among the thumbnails, which are arranged alphabetically in color groups. I will be adding more pictures as participants email me their photos and hope soon to have pictures of all the flowering plants we saw during the weekend.
